Warm florals - beaded floral earrings

Warm florals in denim blues, muted olive greens, rust and mustard. These earrings were made with Czech size 13 charlottes and Japanese 15 seed beads, and are edged with Japanese 11s and Czech 13s.

Applique beading is a very slow process that requires a considerable amount of time when it's done right. It should be flat to the touch and lines should be flowing and smooth. Each one of these earrings represents 5-6 hours of work.

These earrings are backed with hand brain-tanned and smoked deer hide, also referred to as Indian-tanned. Brain-tanning leather is a very laborious and CHEMICAL-FREE process of preparing hide that takes several days to complete. The result is very soft and strong suede that far surpasses the quality of chemically tanned hides, without the toxic chemicals.

The details:
The earrings are about 2 inches long (5 cm) and 2 inches at its widest point.
They are wire wrapped into sterling silver ear wires with single Swarovski crystals, so there’s no worries about them slipping off.
I only used recycled Sterling because we don't need to exploit the earth to look good ;)
