Pink petals - floral beaded earrings

Pink flowers and bright green leaves with a brass accent.
With the exception of the size 11 edge beading, all other beads are 80-100 year old antique Italian and French beads in sizes 13-15.

Applique beading is a very slow process that requires a considerable amount of time--especially when using antique beads which are known for being irregularly shaped. Applique work should be flat to the touch and lines should be flowing and smooth. Each one of these earrings represents 5-6 hours of work.

These earrings are backed with hand brain-tanned and smoked deer hide, also referred to as Indian-tanned. Brain-tanning leather is a very laborious and CHEMICAL-FREE process of preparing hide that takes several days to complete. The result is very soft and strong suede that far surpasses the quality of chemically tanned hides, without the toxic chemicals.

The details:
These earrings hang 1.75 inches (4.5 cm) long from the bottom of the ear wires and 2 inches (5cm) wide.
They are wire wrapped into sterling silver ear wires with single Swarovski crystals, so there’s no worries about them slipping off.
I only used recycled Sterling because we don't need to exploit the earth to look good ;)
